Weight Watchers Flex Program
At HEL’s, we love it when we get to combine our creative, catering and staffing talents in a multi-service brief. When Jubba asked us to help them bring to life the Flex Effect Drive Thru, we knew just the team to call.
Here, our Angel Maddie describes what it’s like to be a part of an exciting event whilst also being an active member of the Weight Watchers Flex Programme.
Christmas is over once again and the New Year hits with full force. With 2017 fading into the distance New Year’s Resolutions are made. With the most popular resolution, every year being healthy eating, what better way to kick off January than with a drive-thru… A Weight Watchers Drive Thru.
Weight Watchers launched a new programme in November named Flex, a programme built on their already successful system to give members even more freedom. The Drive Thru pop-up was designed to show off the new Flex programme, to prove that eating healthy doesn’t have restrictions and that no food is off limits.
HEL’s created and reproduced some of the Flex recipes to make them extra divine whilst keeping with the programme. All food was cooked on-site from scratch, with QR codes attached to the takeaway bags so that members of the public could find the recipes to try at home, revealing the simplicity of Weight Watchers Flex. Myself, together with a dream team of Angels, set up in the early hours (in that winter morning dawn) to catch commuters with free offerings that included scrumptious waffles topped with yoghurt, honey and blueberries, yum!
I was thrilled to be given the opportunity as an Event Manager to work this event being an active member of the Weight Watchers Flex Programme. After having such a positive experience over the past year, with the brand, it was exciting to share my success story with members of the public and bloggers. This is a great example of how HEL’s HQ work hard to match their Angels to brands. Working with Jubba (Creative Event Producers and Consultants) on-site was a complete joy. With only a day to build the entire structure, Andy and his team worked tirelessly to ensure everything ran smoothly. The design was beautiful, striking and everything you would imagine a healthy drive-thru to be.
Being a one-day event amidst the hustle and bustle of London Bridge we were unsure of what to expect but queues soon backed up and the Drive Thru was so popular that we were eaten out of house and home. The HEL’s team worked hard as ever – boxing orders, managing queues and expertly taking consumers through the menus of each session for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each meal was more popular than the last with word of mouth spreading throughout the area and jealous colleagues intrigued to see what the fuss was all about.
At the end of the day, the proof was in the pudding with no leftovers in sight. Weight Watchers are clearly on to something, not just with Flex, but healthy drive-thrus might just be the next big thing.
